The technique
Aurelie Dellasanta -designer/ visual artist and founder of Lit-Association, developed this technique in 2012 with firework powder (similar to non-hazardous category sparkler powder) which when manipulated can be used as a painting material to create artistic pieces.
This technique allows to draw any kind of patterns on wood. When lit, the sparkling fire which is not dangerous in any sense, follows the draw path and engraves its trace into the wood board producing a fascinating stage of the artwork.
We found in some practices and interventions that the piece functions as a symbolic centre to gather people and share an special moment between them.
That is how we aim to use this technique in The Travelling Centre Project within diverse communities.
